Construction

Use alternate vertices of a cube for one tetrahedron and the remaining four for its point-reflected twin.

Mathematical properties

  • ◇8 vertices coincide with the vertices of a cube
  • ◇The intersection of the two tetrahedra is a regular octahedron
  • ◇Kepler named it the stella octangula (1609)

Symbolic interpretation

In some modern spiritual teachings it is described as a 'light vehicle'. This is a belief, not a scientific claim.
